About Barton Villas
Barton Farm, with its luxury villas (5 Tuscan style self-catering holiday villas), is located near Botriver in the heart of the Kogelberg National Park. The farm is just one hours' drive from Cape Town and twenty minutes drive from Hermanus. The views from the villas are of the surrounding mountains, our vineyards, olive groves and lavender fields to Walker Bay. The villas provide a perfect base from which to explore the Western Cape.
There are over 70 acres of vineyards situated on the south slopes of the Kogelberg, 760 metres above sea level, absorbing the cooling sea breezes from Walker Bay. Barton wines can be tasted and purchased from our Tasting Room.
Self Catering Accommodation
Choose from either our five stunning villas all offered on a self catering basis.
Blue Crane Villa:
Blue Crane Villa has two en-suite double bedrooms (one with shower only) and one en-suite twin bedded room. The spacious living room leads to a well-equipped kitchen. The villa has an eco-friendly wood fire hot tub, pool and gazebo with views across the valley and the Kogelberg Nature Reserve.
Plover Villa:
This split-level three bedroom(en-suite with shower and bath) villa has a spacious open plan living room with DStv and log fire, dining area and well equipped open-plan kitchen that leads onto the dining veranda. Braai facilities provided on the verandas, its own Jacuzzi and swimming pool, which have views over the farm's vineyards, Walker Bay and the Kogel valley.
Heron Villa:
Heron Villa has three large double en-suite bedrooms and one twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. It has a spacious open-plan living room with DSTV and log fire, dining area and kitchen. Braai facilities are available outside. The villa has an entertainment / games room with a pool table and table tennis, as well as an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi with spectacular views.
Dove Villa:
Dove Villa can accommodate 6 people in total, in three large en-suite bedrooms. Two bedrooms have a door that leads to the front patio, overlooking the swimming pool, vineyards and mountains. There is a spacious open plan living area and fully equipped self catering kitchen. An undercover Jacuzzi is available for private use. Various braai areas are available as well as a fire place in the living area.
Hammerkop Villa:
Hammerkop can accommodate 4 people, in two en-suite bedrooms, each with a door leading to the patio. The open plan, fully equipped self catering kitchen / dining room / lounge has DSTV, wifi and an indoor braai / fireplace. Situated a little bit further from the house is a large, private swimming pool with gazebo and braai facilities. Hammerkop also as an eco-friendly wood fire hot tub.
Additional Facilities
Guests can hike on the Kogelberg National Park's trails a short distance from the farm and have use of the tennis court and adjoining golf chipping area. Guests of Blue Crane and Plover also have use of the par three-golf hole.
Barton Farm boasts world famous Fynbos and is home to variety of wildlife including the Blue Crane, South Africa's most endangered bird species.

We stayed at the Heron Villa for the weekend and enjoyed every minute! The farm is beautiful and the staff very helpful. The villa we stayed in was fully equipped, neat and absolutely stunning! Without a doubt, we'll go back for an even longer break!
