About Borrie Cottage

Borrie Cottage offers self catering accommodation in Prince Albert at Yellow House. A working almond and citrus farm, this gem is one of the rare “dorpsplase” - a farm with a street address, 1.8km from the centre of town. Most of the buildings on the farm date from around 1885, the same period when Thomas Bain was busy constructing the majestic Swartberg Pass.

Borrie Cottage is a self catering cottage with two single beds and a bathroom with a shower. The cottage is ideal for business travellers seeking a comfortable night's rest.

The kitchenette is equipped with a mini-oven/stove, microwave, kettle, and coffee plunger. The unit is air conditioned and has a flat-screen TV with selected satellite channels. The braai is ready to be lit, and your private stoep overlooks the garden.

Coffee, tea, milk, sugar, homemade rusks, salt and pepper are provided. Additionally you will be supplied with soap, organic mosquito repellent, eco-firelighters, matches and your first night's firewood.

Attractions

For the adventurous, the Swartberg Pass is one of the country's most scenic passes for mountain bikers, hikers and motorcyclists. Foodies will find themselves in their element amongst our fig, olive and wine farms, cooking events, and local produce to be found in our shops and the Saturday market.

Prince Albert is also home to various artists, writers and the local showroom features movies and performances by well-known artists.
