About Braeside Country Cottage

Braeside Country Cottage is located near Tarkastad in the Eastern Cape. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of this private guest farm which is only a three hour drive from both Port Elizabeth and East London.

The cottage is situated on the banks of the Tarkastad River and is surrounded by Lucerne lands. The working sheep and cattle farm is at the foot of the Winterberg Mountain range; making it ideal for hikers, walkers, cyclists and fishermen.

Self Catering Accommodation

Braeside Country Cottage has five bedrooms. All rooms are equipped with heaters, electric blankets and hot water bottles.

The main bedroom has a private entrance and contains a king bed, en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom also has a private entrance and contains a Queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. Third bedroom also has private entrance with Queen bed and en-suite bathroom. Rooms four and five have twin beds and share a full bathroom.

Braeside Country Cottage has a fully equipped open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge with DStv. Relax around a cosy log fire or enjoy a braai (barbeque) in our large braai area under the amazingly clear, starry skies of the majestic Winterberg. The cottage is fully serviced daily to enable you to take a complete break.

Braeside Country Cottage has access to 6 dams offering excellent fly fishing. Thrift Dam (25km), Ventnor, Delton and Theadan (15km), Barry Dam (15km) and Nettlegrove Dam (6km).
