Located in the Breede River Valley, Buffalo Drift is situated on Ruigtevlei Farm, near Tulbagh. This working farm on the banks of the lush Berg River offers a variety of accommodation to suit your needs.

Steal away from the city and get all loved-up! What could be more Out of Africa than disappearing to a deluxe, private tent on the banks of the Berg River? The addition of four secluded, self-contained tents to the Buffalo Drift farm offers an escape for couples that want all the love without the romance-killing price tag.

More glamping than camping, these tents contain a double bed (or bunk beds if you're into that); en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette. With access to your own private stretch of the riverbank you can cool off in the fresh water, laze in the sun or warm up under the deluxe double shower heads. Enjoy the unspoiled night sky undisturbed. This is a great, secluded spot that allows for quality time with that someone special.

River Cottage:
The cottage offers two dorm-style rooms plus en-suite bathrooms for up to 12 people. Each room is furnished with three bunk beds and each bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin. The layout is open plan with a gulley kitchen looking out onto lounge area.

Activities

The Berg River which runs through the farm making a variety of water activities a possibility; refreshing swims, braving the rope swing, canoe day trips down the river and fishing off the banks. The farm also offers hiking and mountain bike routes as well as clay pigeon shooting, archery and paintball.

You get to unload some ammo in a safe and controlled environment. There are a number of wonderful restaurants and wine farms in the Riebeek Valley and Tulbagh areas - make sure you visit a few and try them out!
