Bushwhacked is a highly recommended property for self catering in Barberton for anyone visiting the Wild Frontier region.
About Bushwhacked
Located on the outskirts of Barberton in Mpumalanga, Bushwhacked is ideally situated just an hours drive from the Kruger National Park and Swaziland. We are less than an hour from Nelspruit. Mozambique is only 90 minutes drive with Maputo and the coast only 2.5 hours away.
Self Catering Accommodation
Bushwhacked offers clean, comfortable double/twin rooms in the main guesthouse or self contained chalets. Linen, towels, liquid soap are provided.
There is free uncapped Wi-Fi throughout. All kitchens have tea ,coffee, creamer and sugar in them. Braai/barbeques with spectacular valley views.
We are fairly eco friendly, we recycle, harvest rainwater, have solar hot water geysers throughout. As far as loadshedding we cook on gas and have the usual battery bulbs and solar lights. We sell fire wood for braais when all else fails!
Activities
Gold was discovered in Barberton in 1884 and to this day there are still fvie working gold mines in the area!
Go on some of lovely walks from Bushwhacked, into the mountains and valleys behind us
Drive the scenic geotrail drive to the Swaziland border
Microlight above the local reserves
Visit the Barberton Museum and some of the old gold miners houses that have been restored to original condition, with original furniture
