In the foothills of the Maluti Mountains, on the apron of Mount Horeb, across the road from the hustle and bustle of the town of Clarens on a tranquil golf estate, you will find comfort and delight in The Clarens Country House. Luxury self catering comes as close as possible to taking your own home on holiday, whether you want a private space to share or a house with communal stoep for sitting and reading or just sipping a glass of wine in front of the wood stove.

Self Catering Accommodation

The Clarens Country House comprises four warm, cosy, self-catering suites:

The Shepherd's Loft:
Situated in its own quiet little corner, this totally private suite has its own parking area and garden. The suite comprises a bedroom with queen size bed, full bathroom (both bath and shower), lounge (with DStv), dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Ideal for a romantic break away for two.

The Wildeals and Ouhout suites:
Each suite is made up of a large double bedroom (king-size or twin beds) with DStv, full bathroom (bath and shower), and separate lounge with well-equipped kitchenette.

The Bosman suite:
On two levels. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (king-size or twin beds), each with its own full en-suite bathroom (bath and shower). Downstairs has a lounge with DStv, a large dining area (with a table big enough to seat eight comfortably) and fully equipped kitchen. Ideal for a family or two couples travelling together.

The Wildeals, Bosman and Ouhout suites all open up onto a spacious glassed-in verandah (Oom Schalk se stoep) furnished with two old-fashioned stoves to ensure extra warmth.

Additional Facilities

The Clarens Country House is situated in a large garden with braai facilities, and there is ample off-road parking. Luxury self catering means that each suite is heated, the beds have electric blankets and all crockery, cutlery, linen (including a selection of towels and bath sheets) are supplied.

The suites are serviced daily and each suite comes with a selection of teas, coffee, rusks and fresh milk, which together with many other little touches give our guests a warm, cosy, welcoming home away from home.
