Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is a highly recommended Kamberg hotel providing accommodation in 12 guest rooms for anyone visiting the Drakensberg region.
Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is a gourmet getaway tucked deep into the KwaZulu-Natal's Drakensberg Mountains surrounded by the Giants Castle Nature Reserve. Beautifully situated on the edge of a trout-filled dam, alongside the Little Mooi River, the soaring mountains rise majestically from the bottom of the garden.
Drakensberg accommodation at Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is offered in individually decorated rooms withinnovative and creative décor. Each room has a theme and is filled with many articles pertaining to the colour scheme and theme. All rooms have a warm, snug bed with down duvets and pillows, cotton sheets and mohair blankets. All have en-suite bathrooms, TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities, mini-bars, heaters, fans and warm towel rails as well as spectacular views.

The unusual and exciting farmhouse breakfasts are the icing on the cake of your flavourful time with us. We so look forward to your stay with us at Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse.
Dinner is a sumptuous 5-course affair with no effort or expense spared to give our guests a memorable dining experience. A host talks you through every mouthful from pan to plate before you sit down to enjoy the culinary team's creations - and they don't mind telling you that Cleopatra's food is all about the tastes, fun and passion that go into good country cooking!
Fresh ingredients are essential, and being able to pick from the gardens minutes before serving is a real pleasure. For the most exotic tastes, Richard spends hours hunting down local and imported ingredients of the highest quality - flying in fresh salmon from Norway and procuring genuine Parma hams and cheeses from Italy.
The sheer beauty of a landscape or the peace and tranquillity of a spot untarnished by people can be enough to restore equilibrium to any visitor. Wake up to the quiet of the country with the mountain mist rising silently knowing there is an unusual and exciting breakfast awaiting you.
Walking, hiking, cycling, swimming in mountain streams, trout fishing, bird watching, horse riding and excursions to local bushman paintings are just some of the activities enjoyed on the farm and in the area. With the frenzied pace of city life, the allure of an escape back to a more natural environment has grown stronger than ever.
What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid. To compensate, South African property owners are turning to solar power, inverters with backup batteries or in some cases generators to keep the power on, wherever feasible.
