Mixed feelings about the stay - the chalet is comfortable, it was peaceful, quiet and secluded and the 2 border collies were a plus. Karen was friendly and tried her best. However: 1. Communication was poor: - I had no reply to my query beforehand, and had to phone to get instructions on how to enter the property, -Communication about the venue was inadequate/misleading/confusing - in the advert it was stated that the power supply was uninterrupted (solar power), but according to 2 different notices stuck to the walls, power would be switched off late in the evening. We were unprepared for that, and luckily I did not need to use my medical device that evening. It then transpired that the supply was not cut during the night. 2. Accessibility for people with mobility issues - The advert does not indicate that the entrance to the bathroom is outside and had to be reached via outside stairs. -The stone steps leading to the braai area is uneven and my friend nearly lost his balance. - Access the bathroom for occupants in the second bedroom is via the main bedroom. 3. Attention to detail/general preparedness. - We ran out of gas whilst making our first cup of coffee. The gas cylinder should have been checked beforehand. - Although the basic kitchen was adequate, there were no kitchen towels, dish cloths or a braaibak. - According to the notices, battery lights are provided - we could not find any. - Only the second bedroom has a lock and key to the outside door Venue has great potential though.
