About De Mond Villa

Situated in the Overberg region near the southern tip of Africa, De Mond Villa is located at De Hoop Nature Reserve, under three hours drive from Cape Town. De Hoop Nature Reserve is located near Arniston, Swellendam and the Breede River.

Accommodation

De Mond Villa is a holiday home in De Hoop located on the edge of Ramsar Vlei. and has five en-suite bedrooms. Three of the rooms are inside the house and two have outside access. The rooms are furnished with King-size beds and the bathrooms are fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. One of the bathrooms also has a bath.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room. Outside is a braai area, swimming pool and garden. This home is completely off grid and has solar power and gas geysers. Wi-Fi is also available.

Your own private chef and guide are provided.

On Site Facilities

The Fig Tree Restaurant is quite the place to be and therefore packed in high season especially. Please ensure that you book a table for dinner to secure your spot on arrival or the day before. The curio shop sells wood, firelighters and meat but it really is a gift shop and not a food shop. Firewood can be purchased at our Curio Shop or you are welcome to bring your own.

Activities & Attractions

Run, hike or bike the trails at De Hoop. The trails at De Hoop Nature Reserve will unlock much more than your online app rewards this season, with 5 unique trails to choose from, ranging from a leisurely 12km, to a more challenging 55km route for the truly experienced – there is something for everyone.

Few other reserves offer as complete an outdoor experience as De Hoop – sea, sand dunes, the vlei, a floral sensation of rare fynbos plants, diverse antelope and the Potberg Mountains. Birders observe wading birds on the shores of the vlei while the Potberg Mountains are home to a colony of endangered Cape vultures.

Hikers and cyclists have close-up encounters with bontebok, Cape mountain zebra, eland, baboons and ostrich. Activities are diverse and guests choose between various day walks through the rich fynbos plains or along the deserted coastline, or mountain biking along the many gravel roads or scenic game drives.

Lazing on the beach and snorkeling in the many turquoise rock pools is simply another way to pass a rewarding day.
