This is a luxurious, award winning, four-star guest house, situated 35km south of Bloemfontein on the N1. We are situated on a Merino sheep farm, allowing you to experience the best of the Free State country lifestyle.

For a breakaway from the city, come and enjoy the natural surroundings at De Oude Kraal Country Estate. We have four-star garden rooms, strategically located on a route through a forest-like garden.
Garden Rooms:
Privacy - The garden units are set away from the main house, and detached from each other, each room has its outside porch entrance, ensuring the guest's privacy.
Farm Rooms:
Either two single beds or a King-size bed (some rooms also have a bunk bed) and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is a TV as well as air-conditioning as well as a kitchenette, fireplace and an outdoor braai facility.
Style & Comfort - The guest rooms are all individually decorated with style and attention to detail. Much attention has gone into the en-suite bathrooms to create an unbelievable country style experience.
Dining
De Oude Kraal Colonial Restaurant is in the original farmhouse with four meter high ceilings and wooden floors built in 1885 by a German missionary named Saltzmann, and added to by Judge A.J. Smit (Marie's grandfather).

A lovely stay as usual. The afternoon high tea is always something to look forward to. The Cremora tart is to die for. Kindly review the WiFi quality - we struggled to connect. The breakfast is superb. The spa treatment was relaxing.
