Colchester Accommodation
Dungbeetle River Lodge is an owner managed guest house offering bed and breakfast accommodation. All the rooms are en-suite, air-conditioned, wall heaters, fans, honesty bars, safes etc., and are tastefully decorated in a unique African safari theme with upmarket modern bathrooms.
Breakfast
Rates include a very substantial farmhouse breakfast, with fresh home baked breads, jams, cereals, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato and baked beans. Freshly made real fruit juice, coffee and tea. Served on our deck over looking Sundays River.
Location
Dungbeetle River Lodge is your entry point to the world famous Addo Elephant National Park (just 5 minutes to the new gate), and some of the finest game reserves in the Eastern Cape. The owners / managers are qualified game / nature guides, and offer guided tours into the Park, to our guests.
Situated on the banks of the Sundays River, our magnificent decks have sweeping river views, a perfect backdrop to your big five game viewing. Classified as one of the cleanest rivers in the Eastern Cape, swimming is safe, canoes are offered to our guests, as is fishing tackle for the guest who wants an all round “river experience”. A ferry operates on the river, taking guests to the river mouth.

Great setting. Excellent spacious rooms. Great hosts. Excellent breakfast. Fantastic game drive and great Xmas lunch. Although canoes not expensive to hire I would include in price of accomodation.
