About Fern Gully
Fern Gully is 18kms outside Knysna on the Rheenendal Road to the historical Millwood Goldmine and Jubilee Creek in a rural, plantation forested area in the Garden Route. Enjoy the serenity of the country and the bird-life in their natural habitat. Forest walks and horse trails are nearby and the beach is a short drive away.
The gully that gave the farm its name runs through the bottom half of the land and the cabins, being built on stilts at the edge of the gorge, give the impression and ambiance of being in the tree tops. They are so positioned as to provide maximum seclusion and privacy and each cabin's deck faces its own view through the trees.
KNYSNA ACCOMMODATION
The cabins are uniquely different and each one has its own distinct appeal. They are fully furnished and equipped for self-catering in the Garden Route and braai facilities are on the deck. As well as an indoor shower, each cabin has its own outside hot and cold shower.
Pets
Dogs are not permitted on the furniture and must be tick and flea free on arrival. Owners are requested to supply their own pet-beds, towels, bowls and poop scoop.
The cabins have a 2-bar rail around the deck so dogs are not able to be enclosed and are not to be left unattended inside the cabin.
Dogs are allowed to run free if they are 100% responsive to owner command - otherwise they must be leashed when walking around the farm. It is not advisable for dogs to run free in the forest. Dogs are allowed to swim in the dams, if there are no water fowl present, but must be towelled off before entering the cabin!
Guests are liable for any damages and/or breakages and must clean-up after their pets.
ACTIVITIES
Forest Horse Trails - 1 or 2 hour trails through the forest. Walking and bike trails in the Goudveld Reserve - 15 minutes drive from Fern Gully. Picnic sites at Jubilee Creek. Rheenendal Road is on the Arts and Crafts Route and leads to the scenic Homtini Pass drive.

We had a fabulous stay at Fern Gully! The cabin had everything we needed and the visits of the resident Knysna Loerie was welcome. We really enjoyed the peace and tranquility and will definitely visit again!

Child policyChildren of all ages are welcome, parents should note that the cabins are on stilts with a 2-bar railing around the deck and the bathrooms only have showers, so the cabins are perhaps not baby and toddler friendly.
