Fish Eagle River Lodge is a guest house with self catering option, providing accommodation in Hermon for anyone visiting the Swartland region.
Fish Eagle River Lodge was named after the two breeding pairs of African Fish Eagles nesting on the banks of the Berg River, which forms one of the boundaries of this working olive and vine farm. The upmarket accommodation is set in beautifully landscape gardens with the imposing Elandskloof mountain range as a backdrop to the tranquil setting.
Only 45 minutes from Cape Town, the farm is situated in the heart of the Riebeek Valley, just outside the quaint village of Hermon and about five minutes from the restaurants and shops of Riebeek Kasteel. The historic towns of Tulbagh and Wellington are both about 20 km's away and the scenic winelands of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are easily accessible from here. We invite you to experience friendly country hospitality at its best.
Wake up to the sounds of the prolific bird life, breathe in the fresh country air and enjoy long walks on farm roads. Enjoy the lush garden, shaded veranda and sparkling swimming pool. Canoes are available to enjoy leisurely outings on the Berg River. Be amazed at the stars in the clear night sky and remember the haunting call of the Fish Eagle for a long time to come.
Fish Eagle River Lodge offers both B&B and self-catering on the banks of the river.

MISREPRESENTATION / TERRIBLE VENUE / SHOCKING CLIENT EXPERIENCE FISH EAGLE RIVER LODGE (BOOKING VIA SA-VENUES) I did a reservation for 5-7 August 2022 at the Fish Eagle River Lodge via SA-Venues.com based on their site reflecting this lodge under Western Cape Fishing Lodges SA Venues.com. The weekend was booked for a dedicated fishing weekend based on the description of the self-catering accommodation and the description of the facilities and every detail about this lodge as presented on the SA-Venues site. I paid R 2 000.00 for the two nights. Arriving at the venue at 15h00 on Friday 5th August 2022, we found the following absolutely unacceptable when we booked in: The Accommodation was extremely dirty; o Dirty cutlery and crockery; o Filthy, dirty work levels in kitchen; o Malfunction of loose tap in kitchen; o Oven and plates so dirty that we could not use it; o Outside braai so rusted that we could not use it; Couches, blankets and bedding were full of dog hair; Plugs (and subsequently, bed lights) in the bedroom were out not working; The photos displaying fishing from the grass on the river bed fishing was not possible at all there is no chance of any access to the river (+/- 10 meters abyss to river) and the weekend was booked exclusively to fish. I find this experience as absolutely unacceptable and inexcusable.
