About Forellenhof Guest Farm

On the Mpumalanga Highveld bordering Kwa Zulu Natal, nestled between mountains and wetlands, lies Forellenhof Guest Farm.

Forellenhof has a four star grading and is one of those unique accommodation establishments that has that farm feel, yet it brings out the beauty of the country and the spender of its natural gifts.

The Guest Farm is ideally situated for a stopover from- and to KwaZulu Natal and the Kruger National Park and Swaziland. It is a mere 3 hour drive from Pretoria and Johannesburg.

Accommodation

The ambience that has been created by the owners offers you rest and tranquillity in luxury romantic accommodation in two self-catering cottages and a guesthouse. Forellenhof sleeps a maximum of 16 guests.

Be overwhelmed by the tranquil, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere while staying in our luxurious and warmly decorated cottages or guesthouse, each with their own picturesque view. Wake up to the sunrise over the splendid mountains and be enveloped by the breath-taking views and that country feel. All our units are elegantly furnished, fully equipped and have fireplaces for those cold winter nights.

Dining

Although it is a self-catering facility, we offer breakfast as well as a dinner menu by prior arrangement.

Activities

Whether you want to do nothing and unwind, go for a walk, go mountain biking or go bird watching on your own or with experienced bird-guides to spot those rare bird species, we offer the variety of your choosing.

Birding

In recognition of our commitment to provide bird-watching visitors a quality service, Forellenhof has been awarded a Birder Friendly Establishment. A visit to the Bird Life SA Centre in Wakkerstroom is also an option.

Beautiful setting and very neat accommodation. A short drive from Wakkerstroom and lovely to stay on the farm for the evening braai. Very warm and snug and emergency lights all set up for load shedding. Great weekend stay
