Accommodation

The luxury suites are all open plan with high ceilings, allowing for ultimate comfort in an air-conditioned / heated environment. The beds are dressed in the finest linens, the oval baths spell supreme indulgence, and there are fine toiletries for the use of guests.

Each suite has a flat-screen TV and internet access is available. The sophisticated toffee and cream furnishings create an ambience of calm, perfectly reflecting the natural surroundings. You can choose between a single unit that accommodates two people or a double that accommodates two couples or a family. In the double unit, each bedroom is of course en-suite.

Activities and Attractions

When you are able to tear yourself away from the lodge, we will be ready to direct you to the best attractions in the area, which include the Drostdy Museum, Bontebok National Park, the famous church that lost its spire, other special spots in the historic town of Swellendam (the third oldest in South Africa), and the nine-hole golf course.

Easy day excursions are to Cape Agulhas, the southern-most tip of Africa and site of numerous ship wrecks, and De Hoop Nature Reserve, where you can view game and explore the golden seashore. A day trip to Witsand via Malgas on the Breede River offers an opportunity to cross the river on the only man-powered pont in the country.

There is much to see in this historic and scenic part of the Southern Cape and you will be well-placed to continue your travels either towards Cape Town or up the Garden Route.
