About Glen Ormond

Located on a picturesque six hectare property between the towns of Rosetta and Mooi River Glen Ormond offers luxurious accommodation in either private en-suite bedrooms or in self-catering cottages. All rooms have their own entrances and secure parking. Electric gates and an intercom system control access to and from the farm.

Self Catering Accommodation

Black Grouse:
This cottage has two separate bedrooms with bathrooms en-suite (showers only). One bedroom is furnished with a King-size bed and the other bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms have under floor heating and the bathrooms have wall mounted heaters. Electric blankets and extra thick snuggle rugs are on our beds in winter. An elegantly furnished lounge with a fireplace, dining area and kitchenette join the two bedrooms. The kitchens are fully equipped with stove and oven, microwave, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, pots, pans and all crockery and cutlery. There is a TV with DStv as well as a DVD player with a few movies to choose from.

Blue Quail:
This family cottage sleeps four in two separate bedrooms (one with a King size bed and the other with two singles) with bathrooms en-suite (showers only). Both bedrooms have under floor heating and the bathrooms have wall mounted heaters. Electric blankets and extra thick snuggle rugs are on our beds in winter. Fluffy white gowns are available for our adult guests. The lounge has a fireplace and a dining area and kitchenette join the two bedrooms. The kitchens are fully equipped with stove and oven, microwave, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, pots, pans and all crockery and cutlery. A TV with DStv bouquet and a DVD player with a few movies to choose from is provided.

White Egret:
White Egret is a spacious cottage that will accommodate a couple. It has its own private entrance, covered carport and a veranda that looks over the beautiful valley and up to the majestic Drakensberg. The bedroom has under floor heating and the bathroom a wall mounted heater. An electric blanket and an extra thick snuggle rug are made available in winter. Gowns are provided. An elegantly furnished lounge, dining area and cozy kitchen round off this perfect honeymoon cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove and oven, microwave, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, pots, pans and all crockery and cutlery. TV with DStv bouquet and a DVD player is provided.

Complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, milk, rusks, salt, pepper and dish washing liquid and basic toiletries such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, toilet paper and Tabbard are provided in these three cottages.

Red Robin:
This cosy cottage enables guests to relax and feel comfortable. Soft white robes, complimentary sherry, a fireplace, bouquet DStv, bar fridge and fully equipped tea and coffee station are all provided for our guests comfort and convenience. Please note that is not a self-catering cottage.

Green Hoopoe Suite:
This self catering cottage has a private patio where guests are able to relax. The bedroom has a Queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The living area has a TV with DStv and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything needed for self catering.

Activities and Attractions

The Midlands Meander offers visitors hospitality in truly beautiful surroundings, interesting local events, delicious cuisine, outdoor activities and over-the-top adventure sports, historic landmarks, wildlife conservation, and unique arts and crafts.

Midmar Dam is a 35-minute drive away and offers sailing, water-skiing and board sailing, pleasure cruises and game viewing. Golf, fly-fishing, horse riding, a tour of the Battlefields and a treetop tour can be arranged if you are looking for a bit of adventure.
