With views of the magnificent Anysberg Mountains and overlooking the Bellair Dam, Gondwana Lodge offers accommodation in Sanbona, the perfect sanctuary for family, friends and groups. This spacious thatched Lodge offers guests a sense of modern comfort with a touch of bush authenticity.

Accommodation

Gondwana Family Lodge offers interconnecting rooms, indoor and outdoor play areas and a child-friendly pool, catering for guests of all ages.

Each room can accommodate a maximum of two adults sharing with one child, subject to availability of rooms with sleeper couches. Four pairs of rooms at Gondwana Family Lodge are inter-leading.

Each room is furnished with a King-size bed or twin beds if preferred and a sleeper couch. The en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, bath, toilet and basin. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, tea / coffee making facilities, a bar fridge.

Six suites are located on the ground floor with private deck and six suites are located on the second level with private balcony/ viewing platform.

On Site Activities

Traverse the landscape of Sanbona Wildlife Reserve with a qualified ranger in comfortable open Landcruisers. During the drive, be it in the early morning or for sundowners, various species of plants, animals, big game and birds can be seen. Sundowner evening drives offer spectacular displays of light as the evening sun sets over the Little Karoo.

Discover the spirit of the Little Karoo on foot and see the many treasures on the Reserve. Be it a gentle walk, or challenging trail to a secluded rock pool which invites one to submerge into its invigorating bliss and then returning to your lodge for a scrumptious meal, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve has all of this and much more to offer.

At our Relaxation Retreats, Mother Nature is brought indoors for indulgent pampering.

The Sanbona boat safari experience adds to the many other unique experiences on offer in this Karoo wilderness reserve. One of the highlights on the boat safari is to possibly get up close to a pod of hippo, which can be spotted bathing in the dam.
