If you take the road from Cape Town in a northerly direction and drive for just under three hours, you will discover an oasis of luxury, comfort and warm hospitality on the West Coast; Grootvlei Guest Farm.
Grootvlei Guest Farm is situated 6km from the charming fishing village of Lambert's Bay with its moderate climate all year round. It is within walking distance of the Atlantic Ocean with its long, uninterrupted white beaches.
Accommodation
The Grootvlei Guest House, has 7 stylishly decorated bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom (shower facilities). Each room is equipped with MNet, satellite TV and coffee/tea making facilities.
The guest house has a communal dining room, lovely lounge area,various outside patios and a covered braai. The guest house offers accommodation for 14 guests.

Attractions and Activities
With fishing, hiking, bird watching and swimming on the property and 4x4 routes, plus boat trips and game drives in the near vicinity, there is ample opportunity for relaxing or winding down after a long conference.
During the flower season from July to early October each year, the area is covered with a tapestry of wild flowers. Conservation of the dune vegetation has seen the return of small game and you will notice their footprints around the buildings. You may even spot a duikertjie or other buck on an early morning walk.
Birdwatchers will have a field day spotting a large variety of birds, and if you are lucky, you may see Heaviside's dolphins, whales and seals frolicking in the blue water a short distance from the beach.

The rooms were well appointed, comfortable and warm. The location is lovely (out of signal range - but free WiFi compensates). The hostess worked very hard under difficult circumstances to fix various issues including power outage and broken generator.

Think more geared at this stage to group events, conferences & weddings than individual B&B guests. Great breakfast and super private beach sunset spot. Would suggest oppidiun dwelling a better bet that current guest lodge. Need easier access or assistance for luggage handling. Friendly staff.
