Gwahumbe Game & Spa is a 27bed lodge situated in Mid Illovo, just 45 minutes from Pietermaritzburg and one hour from the nearest hotel in Durban.
Guests are welcomed to this piece of paradise with majestic cliff faces and lush riverine vegetation. The area is home to plains game and a wide variety of antelope as well as birds including the martial eagle and endangered ground hornbill.

We were only able to enter the lodge at 15h00 instead of 14h00. Cleanliness unacceptable. We could not use lodge swimming pool for entire stay because it was dirty despite reporting this. Excellent experience with Game Drive. The natural beauty of Gwahumbe made up for the above and other unacceptable things.
