About Gweda Lodge

Gweda Lodge is situated in the Mabalingwe game reserve. A unique game reserve located only one and a half hours drive north of Pretoria in the magnificent Waterberg region of the Limpopo Province. The surrounding bushveld terrain varies between natural hillsides and open plains, with mountain views and perennial streams. The Game reserve is home to the Big 5 with the lions encamped making the reserve safe and perfect for activities and game drives.

Self Catering Accommodation

Gweda Lodge sleeps ten adults and six children in five en-suite rooms with air conditioning. Four of the bedrooms are on ground level and they are all en-suite. The fifth bedroom is a private, en-suite loft room with beautiful balcony.

The first and second bedrooms each contain a king-size bed. There are two bedrooms with access to a loft, and these are furnished with a king-size bed in the room and two single beds in the loft. The fifth bedroom, located in another loft area, contains four single beds. All five bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and there is a separate guest toilet. Both bath and shower facilities are available in the bathrooms.

The open-plan kitchen is equipped for self-catering with a fridge, an oven and stove, and a microwave, while the open-plan living area offers comfortable seating and a TV with selected DStv channels.

The living area opens onto a spacious deck with an outdoor dining area, boma and swimming pool with views of the reserve. For ultimate relaxation, there is a chef to cook your food for you.

In addition to the private lodges amenities, the reserve offers mountain bike trails, tennis courts, hiking, game viewing, bird watching, swimming, a spa, miniature golf, bush pub and a comprehensive food and beverage offering in the reception bar.

When you stay at Gweda Lodge you also have access to the various game drive opportunities offered at the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve. Featuring 8 500 hectares of bushveld, the reserve provides excellent, year-round, game-viewing opportunities. From seeing the majestic elephants making their way through the thicket or spotting the wildebeest and zebra on the open savannah, to watching breathtaking sunsets, a game drive at Mabalingwe is an unforgettable experience.
