Housemartin Guest Lodge is one of the highly recommended De Rust guest houses and provides accommodation in 13 guest rooms for anyone visiting the Karoo region.
About Housemartin Guest Lodge
Housemartin Guest Lodge is located in the small village of De Rust, which is on the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains on Route 62, just 1km away from Meiringspoort.
Accommodation
We offer accommodation in twelve double rooms each with their own private veranda leading to the garden. During your stay you can enjoy the stunning garden and relax by the pool or the braai area.
Rooms are tastefully decorated with high quality linen and have electric blankets, air conditioning and panel heaters. Each room is equipped with complimentary tea / coffee, mineral wter, biscuits and sherry.
Dining
Enjoy a continental breakfast or a scrumptious dinner in the dining room in the manor house (available on request).
Location & Activities
Do the circle route, over the majestic Swartberg Mountains, tackle one of many dirt road mountain passes with your 4x4 or motorbike, swim under the waterfall in Meiringspoort, visit Prince Albert, Ostrich farms of Oudtshoorn and the Cango caves. Charted hiking, mountain bike and horse riding trails ready to be explored.

I would totally recommend Housemartin Guest Lodge. The hosts Theresa & Jan went the extra mile to ensure we had a fabulous stay & experience! Even to offering us the use of their Bakkie to experience the beautiful mountain passes thst our little car would not have managed. The rooms were exceptional and the attention to detail with all the little extras was phenomenal. I will definitely be back!
