HoyoHoyo Machado Stud Lodge is a fabulous escape and offers a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere and stunning accommodation. Machado Stud Lodge is a self catering fishing lodge and cattle farm which can be found in the rocky eastern highlands of Mpumalanga, only 20km away from Machadodorp.
When staying at Machado Stud Lodge you are in fisherman's paradise with eleven dams and seven weirs, there are fabulous catch and release opportunities. The spectacular views and resident birds such as ducks, geese, turkeys and peacocks make this the ideal location for nature lovers.

Verified review
The staff was friendly and helpfull but the accommodation not worth the price. There were various issues. The water had to be manually switched on through a pressure pump. The one-bathroom floor was completely flooded due to a leak in the wall. Some light fittings were broken and the kitchen dark. If the pressure pump was off, we didn't have water and if it was on the water leaked through the wall. The globes in two bathrooms had to be replaced because the globes were not working. The dams are away from the house and the electrical fence surrounding the dams broken, creating an image of neglect. Nice place but needs serious attention. Price far too high for what we received. Pity the place has potential and the staff very friendly.
