Self Catering Accommodation

Jovali Horeb Studio is a private ground level self catering holiday apartment in Clarens sleeping two adults. The luxurious bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size bed. The private bathroom is fitted with a separate bath / shower, toilet and basin.

The studio comes with a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, microwave oven and fridge/freezer. There is a TV with basic satellite channels.

Enjoy a cup of coffee and freshly-baked rusks while sitting on the patio and watching the sunrise. You will see Mount Horeb on your left, and if you are lucky, you may even spot an antelope on the greens.

A Weber Braai with briquettes / charcoal (sufficient for 1 braai) is available to make the most out of the outside area.

There are farm roads that lead to the Klein Caledon River. At night you will experience a magical heaven of stars. The silence and peace will calm you.

The Area

Clarens is a small hamlet situated in the Eastern Free State, South Africa. Clarens is renowned for its spectacular sandstone cliffs, mountainous scenery and sandstone buildings. The village is an artist's Mecca with 17 resident artists and 19 art galleries. This picturesque village bestows a European sense of being overseas.

Numerous restaurants and shops are there to fulfill almost anyone's needs. A short 20 kilometre drive takes you to the Golden Gate Reserve where you can see wildlife such as blesbuck, wildebeest, zebra, birds of prey (in particular the Cape Vulture and the Bearded Vulture). Clarens is a haven for the adventure seeker - white water rafting, horseback riding, quad bike treks, abseiling, mountain bike tracks, 4x4 routes and hiking plus a new 18 hole golf course.

A more leisurely activity is offered through fly fishing and star gazing - one of the best views of the southern night sky in South Africa.
