Kadie's Landing House is a charming, thatched family home situated on the east bank of the Breede River in Malagas, offering self-catering accommodation in a peaceful and secluded setting. Guests can enjoy exclusive access to vast private farmland, perfect for leisurely walks, cycling, birdwatching, and spotting small game. The property boasts one of the most breathtaking sunset views along the river.

Self-Catering Accommodation

This spacious holiday home is ideal for one to three families sharing and comfortably accommodates up to eight adults and four children. It features six bedrooms and three bathrooms, ensuring ample space for everyone.

The main bedroom is located on the ground floor and is furnished with a queen-size bed. It also includes its own lounge area complete with a cozy fireplace, a walk-in dressing room, and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a corner bath, shower, toilet, washbasin, and bidet.

Upstairs, you will find four additional bedrooms. The second bedroom has a double bed, while the third offers a queen-size bed. The fourth and fifth bedrooms each feature double beds as well. These rooms share a well-appointed bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet, and washbasin.

The sixth bedroom is designed specifically for children and includes two single beds along with a bunk bed. This room is located separately from the main house, offering a private space suitable for a teenager seeking independence or an elderly guest looking for a quiet retreat away from the stairs. It also has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin.

Upstairs, there is a TV lounge where guests can relax and enjoy the selection of DVDs or board games. The lounge is equipped with a DStv connection (guests are welcome to bring their own Smart card) and uncapped Wi-Fi is available for an additional fee.

The fully equipped kitchen includes two fridge-freezers, an additional fridge, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, a microwave, a kettle, and a toaster. The downstairs living area comprises a comfortable lounge with a fireplace and a dining area with an 8-seater table. The lounge and dining area open onto a large, covered patio, which features a 12-seater dining table, a 4-seater wine barrel table, additional seating, and a built-in braai with two potjie pots.

The thatched roof provides natural insulation, keeping the interior cool during summer and warm in winter. The expansive patio and built-in braai offer an ideal spot to enjoy panoramic views of the river, the Potberg mountain, and stunning sunsets, all while keeping an eye on your fishing rods on the nearby jetty.

Outside

Surrounded by 22.5 hectares of land, this home is steeped in history, once serving as a working farm for raising baby ostriches. The property is also known as one of the standby landing areas for the SS Kadie as it awaited the tide for its journey to Malgas.
