Karoo Ridge Mountain Lodge is situated on Karoo Ridge Conservancy, 100km from Colesberg in the Northern Cape and 55km from Middelburg, Eastern Cape.

Karoo Ridge Mountain Lodge is set in a tranquil valley with exquisite scenery and is the perfect place to relax. It is a good stop over if travelling to the coast or if you wish to break a trip between Johannesburg and Cape Town. For those who enjoy the silence and peace of the Karoo it is a place where you can put your feet up, away from the mad rush of everyday life.

Self Catering Accommodation

The Mountain Lodge is built as a home and is made up of two bedrooms furnished with twin beds that can be arranged together or set apart. These rooms have en-suite bathrooms fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin.

The kitchen is well equipped and the fridges and ovens run on gas. Light energy is from solar. Kitchen and living areas open onto a large veranda which gives a real feeling of Karoo space.

Lounge on the veranda or read a book on one of the floating chairs. Sit in the plunge pool and enjoy a drink while watching the sun go down. Have a braai. Enjoy the indoor fireplace on cold nights.

Wi-Fi and mobile free you really can get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Gemsbuck and Springbuck frequent the area and will happily come and drink from the swimming pool out front. Take a walk to the remarkable dolerite rock stacks or wander further into the foothills.

Meals

The lodge is set up for the independent guest who wishes to self-cater. If travellers would like meals prepared for them this is done at an extra cost and must be organised well in advance of your trip.

Activities

Set on a working farm with the priority being sustainable utilisation of natural resources, indigenous cattle herds roam the camps alongside wildlife species such as mountain reedbuck, springbuck, kudu, duiker, steenbuck, red hartebeest, Burchell's zebra and gemsbuck.

Birding, mountain biking, walking and hiking are some of the things you can do here. We welcome guest interest and participation in the daily running of the farm.
