About Kastelein
Kastelein is a charming little guesthouse for the more discerning traveller. It is situated in a quiet side street in Pongola, directly off the N2 highway between the Northern Provinces and KwaZulu Natal or Mozambique.
Accommodation
There are five bedrooms, sleeping thirteen guests at maximum capacity, which means it is never crowded. Four rooms are in the new building and the deluxe room is adjacent to the main house, with its own private entrance and courtyard.
Much care was taken to furnish the rooms stylishly, yet with no unnecessary fuss or frills. We take pride in our immaculate white linen and soft sterilised towels.

Facilities
All amenities are provided in all the rooms. There is a small pool in the garden as well as sitting areas where guests can relax outside. The car ports are covered and well protected. The main entrance of the premises leads to the reception area in the main house where the dining room is also situated.
The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, the spacious rooms are elegantly furnished, the garden is picture perfect and the cuisine is unpretentious but hearty and plentiful.There is a small pool and safe off street parking. The premises are completely protected by an effective security system.
Breakfast & Dining
There is a large patio leading off the dining room where guests may choose to have their breakfast. Free Wi-Fi is available there. Dinner can be provided by prior arrangement.
Attractions
Pongola is sugar cane country. A tour of the local sugar mill is an interesting experience. Lake Jozini, home to the legendary Tiger Fish, is 38km from Pongola. Boat cruises on Lake Jozini make for unforgettable memories. Elephant and rhino grazing on the shores is a common sight.
There are several world renown game farms and reserves in the Greater Pongola Area. Scuba diving and game fishing at Sodwana Bay can be done in a day trip.

My husband & I couldn't get a room in the accommodation place we've used before, so I found Kastelein. I will certainly come back here in future! Our room was elegant & beautifully appointed, with attention given to every little detail - even to a coral rose in a little vase on each bedside pedestal! absolutely beautiful!
