The Kliphuis on Kleinfontein is situated on a large dam and against the spectacular Witzenberg mountain range 12km outside the town of Tulbagh. Here guests can enjoy soaring views over the mountains. This charming cottage is a wonderful place for a romantic break away or a rustic getaway with the family.

The location is wonderful, the house itself was a disappointment. The floors, counters and shelves were super dusty. The appliances were sticky and even the tea pots were dirty. One candle had to see us through loadshedding and the emergency light didn't work and the other candle didn't have a wick. The curtains are super old, can't close properly and were torn on many places. The kitchen counter's slats were coming out and the chairs were broken. The stoep slats were a hit and miss and really not safe for children. On the photos there is a TV, but there was none. On the photos there is a proper shower but there was no doors or screen, so it was a total mess when we showered. The back door can't lock and no key could be found. We were not allowed to swim in the dam, even though the website states that it is swimmable. There are two big dogs on the adjacent farm that charged at us. So I wouldn't say it is pet friendly... Overall, not somewhere I would stay again.
