Knysna Houseboats offers accommodation in well equipped houseboats, all outfitted to high specifications, for a truly comfortable experience. The charter base is located in Thesen Islands Harbour Town in Knysna and this marina development is within walking distance of the waterfront, yacht harbour and the town centre of Knysna.
Self Catering Accommodation
Knysna Houseboats create a home away from home feeling, as they are equipped with all the facilities required for self catering.
There are seven self catering boats available, Evening Star, Royal Dawn, Misty Dawn, Dreamer, Southern Cross, Morning Star and Barely-A-Wake.
All the boats have a double bed in the fore-cabin, storage space and a bench seat that doubles as a child's bed. There is a comfortable dining area that simply converts to a double bed. Each boat has a compact head (bathroom) that contains a hot shower, chemical toilet and basin. The fully fitted galley kitchen has a stove, oven, electric fridge, sink, crockery, cutlery and utensils. A CD player, captains book, safety equipment, life jackets, first aid kit and fire extinguisher are also included.
Outside there is an open lounge deck with a bimini (canvas cover providing shade), barbeque and roof top sundeck for all passengers to sun bath and enjoy the views.
All captains get a short navigational course. Pilots are available to help you park your boat. Houseboat service includes, filling up with fresh water, fuel (if required), cleaning and pumping of toilets, checking of cooling system and oil level, rubbish removal and supply of LP gas if required.
Breakfast and Dining
There are a number of restaurants in the area, or you can go for a cruise to Thesen Harbour town for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Menus are also provided for those times when you just want to relax. The menu includes old time favourites such as delicious oysters and champagne, beverages, cold platters and sushi. Room service is also offered on the lagoon so you do not even have to leave the boat. In order for you to effortlessly enjoy going onshore, our staff will be available between sunrise and sunset to park your boat at one of our moorings. You just approach the jetty and we'll take it from there.

An awesome experience, a lot to learn initially, but once you get the hang of it it's great, it's like a caravan but on the water so the toilet and shower is a bit challenging, but living on the water and jumping overboard, the sunrise and sunsets make it all worth it. Brenton is very helpful and Stephen was our right hand man. Thank you for a wonderful experience we will never forget.
