About Knysna Log-Inn

Built in 1998, this unique four star hotel is truly in tune with the area's history of being the hub of the indigenous timber industry of the Knysna forests. The lavish, but tasteful use of rare Yellowwood and other indigenous timber in the construction showcases just why the area became so famous for timber products in the last century.

The area is renowned for its natural beauty and has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the whole country. The magnificent Outeniqua Mountains run into the vast indigenous forests of Knysna. The town of Knysna itself is developed around the Knysna Estuary (lagoon) and Heads that lead out to the warm Indian Ocean.

Accommodation

The hotel offers fifty seven tastefully decorated rooms with all modern appointments. All rooms are air-conditioned, have flat screen TV's with satellite options, hairdryers, tea / coffee making facilities and electronic safes.

Facilities at the hotel include a salt water swimming pool that is kept at a constant temperature year round of 24 degrees celsius. We also offer a Jacuzzi and a Sauna, where guests can unwind and relax with a cocktail after a long days exploring.

For golfing enthusiasts, Knsyna Log-Inn has multi-memberships of our two world class golf courses, Pezula and Simola. This allows our guests to play at these courses at extremely affordable rates.

Breakfast and Dining

Knysna Log-Inn serves breakfast daily from 07h00 till 10h00. This is always included in the rate quoted.

We offer a large variety of only the freshest in-season fruits, as well as cereals, yogurts, cheese and cold meats platters and fruit juices. We also bake our own scones, muffins, flapjacks as well as the decadent temptation of cinnamon pancakes as a breakfast treat. While guests enjoy this continental side of breakfast they will be offered a hot English breakfast, by our friendly breakfast ladies, with eggs to order, sausages, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes.

As we are just two blocks from the Knysna Waterfront, so through experience, we have found that guests enjoy taking lunch and dinner at those locations instead of the hotel. We do offer hot and cold beverages at all times of the day within the hotel.

Conferences

Tailor-made conferences and functions, together with our excellent service and facilities, will ensure that your event is a success.Our large conference room can seat up to 120 people in cinema style. The conference room is wall to wall carpeted and fully air-conditioned. A wide range of audiovisual equipment can be arranged at an extra cost.

Location

Knysna Log-Inn is ideally situated in Knysna, being just a five minute walk, or two blocks from the Knysna Waterfront. At the waterfront, visitors are spoilt for choice with restaurants and quaint little shops that offer unique products from the area. The waterfront is also the departure place for the many activities that are offered on the lagoon, such as yachting, lagoon cruises, whale and dolphin watching and trips to the oyster beds.
