Leeuwenbosch Shearer's Lodge is a Paterson hotel providing accommodation in 5 guest rooms for anyone visiting the Greater Addo region.
The farm has been in existence since 1926 when the Fowlds family began wool farming. Since joining the Amakhala Game Reserve as a 3-star lodge, the old shed has been converted into a beautiful lodge.
What to expect at the lodge/reserve
Each room has direct access to the wrap-around verandah and views of the beautiful garden and pool. The Lodge has been furnished with a contemporary feel, juxtaposed with the old foundations of our sheep shearing shed.
Enjoy a quiet moment in the dim stillness of the 19th-century stone chapel or sip on a cup of tea in the shade of the veranda. Rates at the lodge include dinner, bed and breakfast.

Shearer's offers an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding areas of the Eastern Cape. Addo Elephant National Park lies just 30 kms away, the 1820 Settlers Monument in Grahamstown is a 30 minute drive along the N2, and the Born Free Predator Rehabilitation Centre is a mere 10 minutes from the Leeuwenbosch gate.
