Madwaleni River Lodge is located on the Babanango Game Reserve offering an ultra-luxury lodge situated in the heart of Zululand, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. The lodge is nestled into the banks of the iconic White Umfolozi River offering guests spectacular views of the rolling valleys and wilderness area.

Accommodation

Madwaleni River Lodge offers twelve luxury tented suites that accommodate two people each. Furnished with twin beds that can convert to King-size beds or King-size beds with mosquito nets, each unit has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and his and hers basins. Family suites with interleading sections are available for larger bookings or families. Comfortably furnished, each unit has a lounge area, a drinks and coffee station, opening onto a patio with outdoor sun loungers and a plunge pool overlooking the beautiful surroundings.

The lodge has a dining area, bar, swimming pool. The lodge restaurant showcases an innovative rooftop vegetable garden, ensuring a direct supply of organic produce and delivering a farm-to-table dining experience that is both delightful and exceptional. The gym offers state-of-the-art facilities with panoramic river views, including treadmills, spin bikes, and an indoor water rowing machine. Yoga mats are also provided, allowing guests to engage in peaceful meditation and gentle stretching exercises with riverside views.

Leather couches and an 8-seater table create inviting spaces for reading, gathering, or engaging in board games. Overlooking the river, the infinity pool provides a breathtaking vista where guests can cool off, soak up the sun, and observe wildlife drinking. Seamlessly blending with the natural environment, the pool's location and design provide an immersive and unforgettable experience. In addition to its other remarkable features, Madwaleni River Lodge boasts a magnificent 2000-bottle wine cellar with a curated collection of the Cape's finest, rarest and most unusual wines.

Children

No children under the age of 8 years on game drives (unless a private vehicle is booked).

From guided 4×4 safaris, to escaping the heat of the day in our sparkling pool, there is plenty to get up to at Babanango Game Reserve. Guests can watch the game while on a game drive, do some bird watching and enjoy a bush dining experience under the stars.
