About Makhasa Private Game Lodge

Makhasa Private Game Lodge offers accommodation in Hluhluwe and a roomy bush break in the lush Zululand region of Northern KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. We are next door to a world-class game reserve and Phinda Private Game Reserve within the Munyawana Game Reserve.

Through the gate of Phinda Private Game Reserve, Makhasa offers tranquil lodging accented by the sights and sounds of the bush, as part of the greater Munyawana Game Reserve.

Accommodation

Luxuriate in the bush at Makhasa in one of six private suites crowning the central lodge area. Shaded wooden walkways link the suites together. Guests will be sure to have a memorable stay in our comfortably furnished safari accommodation, well situated near a prime waterhole location for game viewing opportunities.

The air conditioned suites are furnished with a King-size bed and have a bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. The rooms lead onto a shared veranda that overlooks our well-maintained gardens. Tea and coffee are available in each suite. Rates include meals but exclude all drinks. Wi-Fi is available.

Dining

Enjoy three meals prepared daily by a local chef, including in the rates and served in the dining area each morning. Guests can choose from two seasonal meal options crafted from locally sourced produce. If you have specific dietary requirements, please inform us upon your booking.

On Site Facilities

The lodge has a lounge, dining area, viewing deck overlooking the waterhole and free Wi-Fi.

Activities

Two world class game drives per day are included in the rates (sunrise and sunset). Game drive snacks and beverages are included. Phinda Game Reserve and Zuka Game Reserve, as well as other properties and farms, form part of the World renowned Munyawana Game Reserve. The Makhasa Nature Reserve was recently included when fences were dropped with Phinda Game Reserve, to create a larger conservation area.

Kindly note that children older than 6 years are welcome to join us on our game drives at the discretion of &Beyond rangers. They will maintain a distance of 30 metres from elephant sightings.
