About Masescha Country Estate
The essence of Masescha Country Estate is to experience a slower pace of life. Our majestic forest backdrop frames an atmosphere of calm, relaxation and restfulness. We offer a flexible variety of clean, fully equipped self-catering facilities within an established garden setting to suit all budgets.
We are located at Harkerville only 10 minutes drive from Plettenberg Bay and 15 minutes drive from Knysna. Here in the heart of the Garden Route we are a convenient base to explore the many tourist attractions.
Self Catering Accommodation
Our guest cottages are well separated throughout the garden, each having their own individual character and have been renovated to provide all the conveniences of your own home. Please see the individual cottage and room descriptions with photographs below, to assist you with your choice.
All accommodation is regularly serviced and each fully equipped for self-catering with DStv and individual safes. The kitchens are stocked with crockery, cutlery, glassware, utensils, pots and pans and the bedrooms and bathrooms have already been prepared with linen, towels and toiletries.
A welcome selection of tea and coffee are provided on arrival. Each unit also has its own private outdoor brick built braai (barbecue) facility. During the winter period blankets, hot water bottles and heaters are provided and during the summer fans are available for use.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available as is safe and secure parking.
Dining
For those lazy days you can choose to enjoy a scrumptious full English breakfast on our main deck terrace overlooking the views (weather permitting) and a home cooked set menu dinner or light snacks are also available (served either to your room or on our main deck with fabulous views of the forest). Catering options are available on request and can be booked once you have confirmed the accommodation.

Birdsong House is a free-standing holiday house. When you book Birdsong house it is for your group only (not shared with any other guests). Fully equipped kitchen, 5-burner gas oven and washing machine. Master bedroom with a queen-size bed and sleeper couch, safety deposit box, hairdryer, en-suite with large walk-in shower and toilet. A small step up to the second bedroom with a double bed, the third bedroom has a single bed both using a second shower room. From the kitchen step down into the open-plan lounge and dining area with a flat-screen TV with DStv, a DVD player and cosy open fireplace. Masescha is a peaceful haven surrounded by bush, the chalet was beautifully appointed and very clean and comfortable, hosts friendly and helpful. We travelled from Masescha to Knysna and Plettenberg Bay as the location is great. Would definitely recommend, and hopefully will be back, thank you both so much.

A gorgeous property set in the middle of a sub-tropical forrest, away from man-made noises. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay here, took lots of pictures of the plants and special birds here. Breakfast was excellent, our hosts were very friendly and helpful and our room was clean; can't think of a reason not to stay here.
