Meerkat Cottage offers holiday cottage accommodation in Prince Albert with gorgeous sunsets and clear starry nights. Prince Albert is the perfect base for exploring the wonders of the Swartberg including Gamkaskloof (The Hell) and Meiringspoort.

Self Catering Accommodation

Meerkat Cottage is almost 200 years old. This little jewel is a traditional Karoo-style "Brakdak" which means it still has it's original bamboo ceiling, covered with a mixture of mud and clay. We took care to restore it's original features. It is furnished with Karoo-style antiques, true to the simpler lifestyle of two decades ago.

The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and the bathroom is fitted with a bath, toilet and basin and there is a charming outside shower.

There is an open plan living area with a TV and DStv, Wi-Fi and a fully equipped kitchen containing everything needed for your self catering stay. The cottage ha air-conditioning and a fireplace for your comfort.

The Meerkat Cottage has it's own private entrance, entertaining area with braai and off-road, under cover parking.

On site Facilities

There is a guest pool shared by all cottages and a laundry service on request.

Activities

Hiking, mountain biking, birding and botanical excursions are major attractions. Aside from a superb climate, with a high sunshine index and spectacular night skies, the village itself is a small gem, with beautifully preserved Cape Dutch, Karoo and Victorian buildings.
