About Moonriver

Moonriver is perfectly situated on the banks of the Bitou River, offering a relaxing environment in which birding and kayaking can be enjoyed. While only 10 minutes away from the many attractions of Plettenberg Bay, our private river frontage has a very rural appeal. Moonriver is a relaxed mini river resort and is a great place in which to relax and unwind.

Self Catering Accommodation

Both units have a TV with DStv and Wi-Fi. There are kayaks available for your use and secure parking on site.

The Loft Apartment (Sleeps 5 - 6):
The Loft has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other has twin beds that can be converted to a King-size bed on request. The sleeper couch in the lounge is available for two small children or one older child or adult. There is a small kitchen with everything that a guest would need. The stoep, which has a wonderful view, has outside furniture and braai facilities. It enjoys privacy and has a sunny aspect, as the sun sets along the river. The evenings are often spectacular, with the reflections of the sunset on the water.

The Garden Flat (Sleeps 5 - 6):
The Garden Flat is situated on the ground floor and is easily accessible from the car park. It has two bedrooms, one en-suite with two single beds or a double bed and the second room has a Queen-size bed. There is another separate shower and toilet off the living area. The lounge has a sleeper couch for two small children or one older child or adult. The kitchenette is fitted with a full size hob and oven, fridge and microwave and leads onto a beautiful sun deck with a view of the river. There is a braai area on the banks of the river.

Pets

All types of pets are welcome by arrangement and can be accommodated in the Garden Flat only. A dog bed and water bowl can be provided on request prior to arrival. Dogs must be well behaved and kept on the guests portion of the property. Preferably no large aggressive dogs.

The Area

Moonriver is hugely popular with twitchers, as there are many migratory and endemic species to be seen. Guests can walk along the rivers` edge to the end of the property. They might be lucky enough to spot the elusive Cape Clawless otter as there is plenty of evidence of them.

The river is lovely to swim in, provided one doesn't mind a bit of mud between the toes! One can paddle quite far up and down the river on a kayak.

The attractions of The Crags, such as the wine farms and animal sanctuaries, are within easy reach as is Keurbooms Beach.

Plett Game Reserve is 20 minutes up the R340 and it is well worth a visit. Well priced game drives take you to see abundant wildlife.
