About Mount Azimbo Lodge

Mount Azimbo Lodge is a 3 star establishment situated in the Limpopo Province 12 kilometers north of Louis Trichardt (Makhado) on the N1. You have the option to stay in the guest house (breakfast included) or in the self-catering cottage.

Accommodation

Guest House:
The guest house has six en-suite bed rooms with TV (four DStv channels), private entrances, tea / coffee facilities and air-conditioning. One of the rooms is a family room with three beds (or four beds).

Self-Catering Cottage:
The self-catering cottage has two en-suite rooms, kitchen and lounge with TV and Full DStv. Bedroom No 1 has a double bed and shower facility and Room No. 2 has a queen size bed and bath. There is a wooden deck outside the cottage where you have a spectacular view of the mountain.

Prepare a meal in the cozy kitchen or have a peaceful barbeque in the evening while listening to the guinea fowls nesting in the trees. Alternatively an excellent meal can be enjoyed in the restaurant.

Dining

Enjoy a drink in the cozy bar while overlooking the beautiful garden. Our friendly chef will prepare your choice of food from our ala carte menu. A full English breakfast can be enjoyed the next morning or alternatively our chef can prepare your choice of food.

If you wish to have a private braai (barbeque) outside, you can use the comfortable boma with barbeque facilities.

Our service

For us cleanliness is next to Godliness in all categories. At our guest house you will receive personal attention. Our facility has lock-up parking space for vehicles (with alarm) and electrical fencing for personal safety.

Mount Azimbo Lodge is ideal for people on their way to the Kruger National Park, Zimbabwe and Musina (Messina).

Come and experience the unspoiled nature of this beautiful farm (40 hectares) and enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains. It is also a bird watcher's paradise where the eagles can be watched gliding from their nest on top of the mountain. More than 200 different bird species exist in this area.

Smooth booking and check in. Very accommodating and helpful staff. Quite clean, issues with air conditioning in some rooms and plumbing. Need to improve on kitchen utensils in the self catering cottages. The generator is only run for a few hours leaving guests with no power for the rest of the time. Beautiful surroundings with the mountain backdrop

When we arrived there was a conference going on. Staff gave us a free upgrade to a chalet so that we would not be disturbed by the conference. Meals were very good. Overall good value for money for an overnight stop. Only downside was the building operations that are currently going on to build a wedding venue. Could pay more attention to detail - one of the toilet seats in the chalet was broken, when stayed in the same chalet a few days later on our return journey, it was still not fixed.
