Mount Rose is a family and pet-friendly self-catering holiday home offering accommodation in Clarens. We have peace and quiet, dark skies, dirt roads and clean air.

Self Catering Accommodation

Mount Rose is a holiday home in Clarens with four bedrooms. The main bedroom is on the top floor and is furnished with a Queen-size bed and comfortable seating. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. The second and third bedrooms are on the mezzanine level. The second bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size bed and two chairs. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The third bedroom is furnished with a double bed and two chairs. This room makes use of a bathroom off the passage, fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The fourth bedroom is very small and furnished with two three-quarter beds and shares a half bathroom off the passage.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering including a double oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, deep freeze and electric hob. There is also a dishwasher and washing machine. The lounge has a fireplace, smart TV, Wi-Fi, books, games and magazines. The dining table seats six guests.

The covered veranda has a built-in braai and outdoor furniture. The veranda railing can be closed off. The mature garden is fully fenced and the back garden is walled and paved.

Rechargeable lights, battery lights, candles, 2-plate gas stove with suitable kettle are provided. Clarens does not have loadshedding, we have load curtailment. That means we always have power, but Eskom sometimes requests that we reduce usage by 10% for anything from 2 - 10 hours.

At the foothills of the towering Maluti and Rooiberg Mountains you will find the village of Clarens, aptly described as the "Jewel of the Free State". Popular activities include reptile shows, fly fishing, hiking, horse riding, and 4x4 adventures. Clarens is an artist's haven and a growing artistic community has taken root here, drawn by the picturesque scenery and architecture. There are many art galleries and craft shops around the village square that offer visitors the chance to take home unique curios and original artworks.
