About Ngalali Retreat

Ngalali Retreat is a small rustic bush lodge in the Big 5 Grietjie Private Nature Reserve within the Greater Kruger protected area. It is conveniently located 26km away from the Kruger National Park Phalaborwa gate. Its rustic though cosy setting is perfect for those who want to leave behind the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in an informal and natural ambiance without renouncing comforts and delicious meals.

Accommodation

Ngalali Retreat has three en-suite rooms. The rooms have Wi-Fi, a sitting area, desk, fan, and air conditioning in some rooms. In every room, you will find complimentary mineral water, chocolate, toiletries, hairdryer and plug adapters. There is a communal fridge with complimentary ice, water and there is a tea / coffee station.

Dining

Breakfast is included in the rates. Dinner, bed and breakfast as well as Full Board rates are available options. There is not a formal restaurant with an a la carte menu, we prepare our delicious homemade meals only if booked in advance according to a fixed menu which changes daily.

On Site Facilities

There is a large circular swimming pool and the property is fenced off so that you can enjoy walking outside your room in total safety. We try to give our guests a quiet retreat, therefore there are no televisions. We do however provide free Wi-Fi for your convenience, and there is cellphone reception everywhere. beverages are not included but they are available at our honesty bar with a good selection of drinks at extra cost.

Activities and Attractions

During your stay, you will view a lot of wildlife, either while sipping a drink from the stoop of the lodge or a game drive from our private game viewer vehicle can be arranged. For the fondest birdwatcher, we have abundant bird life too! Enjoy the enchanting elephants and wallowing warthogs bathing at our waterhole or the call of a lion while sitting around the campfire at night.

All the wild animals and the big 5 included are free to roam for thousand of hectares since many fences were put down in between the bordering reserves and the Kruger National Park.
