About Ocean Grove Guest House
If you are looking for peace and quiet, then Ocean Grove Guesthouse is the place to be. The only sounds that can normally be heard are those of the sea, and the birds. The Guest House is elevated 75 meters above sea-level, only 350 meters from the shore, affording breathtaking, 180 degree sea-views.
Set on a large property, amidst beautiful gardens, shady trees and abundant bird life, Ocean Grove is the epitome of peace, beauty and relaxation.
BED AND BREAKFAST ACCOMMODATION
Five double rooms, all with full en-suite bathrooms with separate bath and shower. The spacious rooms are all fitted with king-size beds, which can be changed to twin-singles, if preferred.
Three rooms (Starfish, Dolphin and Pearl room) have beautiful sea-views with sliding doors leading onto a patio overlooking the sea. Two rooms (Hibiscus and Orchid room), with beautiful garden-views and private access from the garden. Rooms all have TV, personal safe and tea and coffee making facilities.
The Pearl room is our most exclusive room. Ideally suited for honeymoon couples or that special romantic getaway. With more space than the other rooms, it is equipped with a "chaise longue", air-conditioning and its magnificent en-suite bathroom contains a Jacuzzi-bath.
DINING
Included in our accommodation is the best breakfast on the South Coast, whether your choice is full English or Continental. Served in the dining room, over-looking the sea where, from June to November, you may be treated to a stunning view of whales and Dolphins in the sea below.
Dinner is available by request.
Intimate Weddings
Ocean Grove is an intimate wedding venue, ideal for couples looking to keep their wedding party small. Catering for a maximum of 40 people, we can make all your arrangements for a hassle-free wedding. Your dream wedding can either be on the beach, or at Ocean Grove, with the sea as a glorious backdrop.
The wedding package includes the exclusive use of all 5 double rooms, including breakfast. This arrangement ensures the total privacy of the wedding, with no other guests in attendance.
ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES
Only 350 meters from the beach, where one can stroll peacefully, for miles, enjoying the sand between your toes. We are situated about 750 meters from the popular Glenmore Beach, protected by life guards and shark nets. Ten minutes drive from a number of other, wonderful beaches, including Leisure Bay, Trafalgar and Marina Beach.

There are a number of operators, close-by, that offer horse riding on the beach, whale and dolphin watching trips, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving and quad biking. What ever your interest, Ocean Grove will take care of your reservations.
Birding
Ocean Grove is a birder friendly establishment, perfectly situated on the South Coast component route of the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Birding Route. This route has a bird list of over 500 species, including 64 endemic or near endemic species and 67 red data species. The South Coast Birding Route is unique, having a variety of habitats from coastal and wetland environments to forest, woodland and grassland. It is only in the region of the South Coast Birding Route that South Africa's two distinct avifaunas (afromontane and tropical forest) overlap, making birding in this area extremely rewarding. Specials include the northernmost population of Knysna Woodpecker and other highly sought-after species including Magpie Manikin and African Broadbill.
At Ocean Grove, guests can stroll through the gardens, under the huge, shady, indigenous trees and enjoy an abundance of bird life without leaving the property. Our guests can also visit the close-by Mpenjati, Umtamvuna and Oribi Gorge nature reserves.

quiet and peaceful. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. My only problem was the late book in time - 2pm. If no one was staying in the room on the previous day, I think book in times should be changed to earlier - e.g. 12pm.
