What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid. To compensate, South African property owners are turning to solar power, inverters with backup batteries or in some cases generators to keep the power on, wherever feasible.

Excellent views from our room of the sea. About 1/2 hr walk down to the sea edge for a paddle. The sea was a little rough whislt we were there but we could certainly hear it! very clean room. modern shower. Good breakfast, unusual sausages! Long unmade road but it empty so you can put your foot down and hold on! Nigel and John. Nov.2008

An idyllic and extremely comfortable resdence. We wished we had stayed for longer, but our itinerary would not allow it. Only downside is the tortuous road into the lodge, hopefully this will be improved one day. Hosts and staff were excellent, food wonderful. Pool, facilities and chalet accomodation were all better than expected. The private beach is beautiful beyond words!
