The private Pakamisa Game Reserve, in which the Pakamisa Private Game Reserve is located, comprises a pristine wilderness area of some 2,500 hectares. Access to the reserve is restricted, enabling guests at Pakamisa Private Game Reserve to enjoy the exclusive experience of natural African bushveld with its unparalleled abundance of wildlife and exotic vegetation. Guests can expect to see blue wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, red hartebeest, warthog, bushpig, kudu, nyala, impala, bushbuck, common reedbuck, mountain reedbuck, grey and red duiker, steenbuck, klipspringer, baboon as well as many smaller mammals, predators and reptiles. The bird life, too, is prolific and varied.
Accompanied by an experienced game ranger, guests may traverse the entire reserve in an open safari vehicle. Your guide will explain the often-fascinating life cycles of everything from insects, plants and trees to the behaviour patterns of the mammals and birds, giving you a chance to experience at first hand the magic of the African wild.
At Pakamisa we are specialising in pleasure riding holidays for families, groups and individuals. Each of our trial rides provides incredible game viewing on horseback while strolling through the plains and challenging climb ups of the rolling hills of the vast Pakamisa reserve. You may ride into a herd of impala or wildebeest and numerous warthogs will let you get close to them before they start trotting off.
One of our professional guides will guide you through Pakamisa's unspoilt wilderness areas, introduce you to the South African mammals, fauna & flora and share with you the excitement of a Horseback safari. Combining the magnificent scenery with the thrill of riding amongst teeming herds of game is something no horse lover coming to South Africa should miss.
Other activities include Birdwatching, Big Five Photo safaris, Horse riding - Pakamisa Arabian Stud, Golf, River-rafting Fishing, Shooting Range. Holidays are the most precious time of your year. Whatever your preference and mood dictates, just let us know!
The impossible we do immediately - Miracles take a little longer!
What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid. To compensate, South African property owners are turning to solar power, inverters with backup batteries or in some cases generators to keep the power on, wherever feasible.
