The 5 star lodge is situated within the 14 000 hectare private Nyati Concession of the Addo Elephant Park, which is home to the Big 5 and over 300 species of bird. This is Africa at its best - a perfect balance between the Eastern Cape bush and the sheer elegance of fine country life in a malaria free zone.

Unwind, relax and enjoy incredible tranquility and privacy in one of our 8 luxurious stand alone suites. All the suites are air conditioned and equipped with ceiling fans, electronic safes, mini bar, satellite TV, hair dryer and bathroom en-suite with separate bath and shower.

The lodges 7 Luxury Suites, each elegant, spacious and individually decorated which lead out onto a private patiofrom where guests can soak up the scents and sounds of the bushveld. Suites with inter-leading doors are available for families.

Honeymoon Suite
The Honeymoon Suite is the ultimate in luxury and offers complete privacy and tranquility for newlyweds. The honeymoon suite has an outdoor shower, plunge pool, garden and private patio where romantic candle-lit dinners can be served.

CUISINE

Great care is taken in preparing delicious meals, taken in the attractive dining room with views over the surrounding countryside. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the beautifully furnished lounge area or on the patio overlooking the Cockscomb and Zuurberg Mountains. Children are welcome, and there is even a special menu for them, while adults can look forward to a 5 course dinner.

ACTIVITIES

Activities are tailored to suit guest's interests and restful schedule; they include personalised game-drives, wine tasting, walking with giraffes, guided walks, tracking courses, birding, bush picnics and mountain hikes.

River Bend Lodge is an ideal photographic destination and employs an in-house professional photographer to help guests further their photographic knowledge and skills during their stay.

FAMILY

There are a variety of activities to keep them occupied and give the adults a vacation breather. Ask about our mobile playrooms, mini-rangers programme or Baking-with-the-Chef to make sure the children have an incredible vacation too.

Family safaris are available even with little ones, and this is done in a separate Game viewer to other guests, thus letting Mom and Dad relax with their family while on safari without having to curb the innate curiosity and enthusiasm of the little ones. Please note that Family safaris are unique and that all safety regulations are strictly adhered to with regards to distances from the big game.
