River Lodge is a private one roomed lodge. The bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed and an electric blanket is fitted during the cooler winter months, a stoep off the bedroom has an outside shower and is the ideal place to have your early morning coffee as the surrounding bush awakens. The bathroom consists of a glass fronted double Jacuzzi spa/bath, shower and toilet, as well as an outside shower off the bedroom. Large windows allow guests to shower and bath whilst maintaining high privacy levels. The open plan lounge area has a couch and Jetmaster fireplace in case of cold weather, wood is available on site and can be delivered by prior arrangement. It is fully equipped with 4 plate stove/oven, microwave, and large fridge/freezer. All utensils and cutlery for the kitchen and braai areas are provided including a poetjie pot. There is a stoep and deck off the lounge entrance with a private braai and plunge pool, sunsets from this unit filter through the massive Wild Olive tree under which it is built. The lush garden provides colour and peacefulness throughout the year.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.
