Rondefontein Guest Farm is a retreat on a working sheep farm just 2.5 km from the N1 and 3 km from the town of Springfontein in the southern Free State.
This charming farm offers a convenient halfway stop for travellers journeying between the northern regions of South Africa—such as Gauteng, Durban, and Kruger Park—and the southern destinations like Port Elizabeth, the Garden Route, and Cape Town.
At Rondefontein, guests can unwind in a peaceful, rural setting and experience the warmth of a homey farm atmosphere.
Accommodation
Rondefontein Guest Farm features six unique and cozy chalets, each thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and relaxation. The accommodation options range from double-room stone cottages with thatched roofs to family rooms and self-catering units, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms.
Some chalets offer baths, while others have showers. Each unit includes a small kitchen area with a microwave, kettle, small fridge, coffee and tea facilities, as well as a braai area.
In addition, rooms are fitted with electric blankets and heaters for winter, and fans for the summer months. Entertainment is provided with televisions featuring the DSTV guesthouse package.

During the hot summer months, guests can cool off in the swimming pool, located next to the fully licensed bar. The bar offers refreshing drinks, perfect for relaxing by the pool or watching sports. In the winter, guests can warm up with a drink by the cozy fireplace in the dining room, where home-cooked meals are served.
The farm prides itself on its delicious Karoo lamb dinners, with a variety of starters, puddings, and more available. A full English breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, and the farm’s signature moer koffie or a pot of tea is served each morning.
Rondefontein is completely off-grid, powered by a solar system with gas and generator backup for cloudy days, ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly stay.
