About Tierkloof Serenity

Tierkloof Serenity is a cottage located on our 1200 hectare farm. We are 195km from Cape Town, which means our cottage is easily accessible for weekend getaways. The cottage enjoys vast views over the Ceres Karoo to the Roggeveld mountains. Distance from artificial lights means that our night skies are crystal clear and offer the perfect conditions for star-gazing.

Self Catering Accommodation

Elevated above the Tankwa plains on the lower foothills of the majestic Swartruggens, Serenity offers a stylish, cool, free-flowing space from which to observe the vast surrounding array of natural beauty. Favourite features include a wide covered veranda, a sparkling rock pool as well as an outdoor shower and bath surrounded by stunning natural rocky terrain.

Featuring three stylishly appointed bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with shower only) and an exquisite open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area opening onto a sweeping 3.5 meter deep verandah, Serenity can accommodate up to six guests. An outdoor built-in barbecue with seating provides the perfect location for tasty cook-ups while observing the spectacular evening sunset, glass of wine in hand.

Tierkloof Serenity boasts magnificent views of the surroundings and comprises three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with a Queen-size bed each while the third bedroom has two single beds. The first bathroom is fitted with a bath and shower while the second bathroom has a shower only. In addition, the house also has an outdoor bath and shower.

The kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove and oven. The open-plan living area has a dining table, comfortable seating and a fireplace for the chilly winter evenings. The living area opens onto a deck which boasts an elevated swimming pool and a long patio with chairs and daybeds. There is also free Wi-Fi and a small Bluetooth speaker available for guests to use.

Please Note

Tap water is drinkable.
High clearance vehicles are a definite advantage.
We rely on solar power thus ironing of bed linen is not possible. We do promise however, that it will be Karoo fresh! Should you wish your bed linen to be ironed, please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Additional Information

As we are self catering and off the beaten track, please be sure that you bring all you need for your stay. We do provide firewood and additional wood can be purchased if required.

Pet Policy

By prior arrangement with management, guests may be accompanied by pets that conform to the following requirements:

They must be socialised and controllable. We have our own, very gentle and friendly dogs who may come and pay a visit and/or you may encounter them or other guests' pets while out on an excursion. They must not be in any way inclined to chase other animals or birds.

They are strictly not allowed to swim in the pools or climb onto or lie on couches and beds. We have encountered serious issues removing animal hair from pool filters, furniture and bedding and our light-coloured fabric covered couches tend to mark.

Any damages resulting from pets will be for the client's account. Please note that the Cottages are not fenced.
