Soft leather couches, warm fireside evenings in winter – a unique underground cellar in full view of the waterhole - come home to the welcome of our luxurious lodge after an uplifting experience in the bush, your senses inspired by all that is nature.
DINING
Dinner is a sumptuous affair prepared by our in-house chef catering for your specific preferences. Depending on the weather, meals are served at a variety of locations for your enjoyment. Enjoy brunch on the veranda overlooking the riverbed, high tea on the viewing deck overlooking the water hole; enjoy the open air boma with fireplace at night time where dinner is also served. In addition there is an elegant dining room for the cooler evenings with it's inviting lounge and fireplace. Enjoy your interaction with other guests at this time sharing the experiences of a different kind. A romantic dinner in our specially designed cellar with a view over the water hole is not to be missed during your stay. It boasts an impressive selection of local and foreign wines for your enjoyment.
BIG 5 GAME DRIVES AND GAME ACTIVITIES
Your qualified and experienced ranger and tracker are ever present - accompanying you on early morning and afternoon/evening game drive safaris in our specially built bush vehicles, even offering the choice of a canopy during inclement weather, and individual bucket seats.
Bush walks for the adventurous are a fascinating experience, as you discover the wonderful design of nature as each living creature, from the microscopic to the largest mammal lives in harmony with the trees and flora. Morning coffee and sundowners are enjoyed in the open veldt, often in close range of the wild life.
Leave with memories of close encounters with the Big Five and perhaps even the Cheetah and/or the elusive Wild Dog and those magnificent sunsets, beautiful surroundings, exquisite meals, friendly staff, to be sure ... you will be back.

Elize, I just wanted to thank you for another wonderful holiday. I can assure you it just keeps getting better ! The boys are very grumpy and are already saying "I miss Shumbalala". Please thank Hans, Chris, Jacque, Raymondo and everyone else for making it again such a special time. Last night was quite an experience and the highlight of the trip. It really is a special place.
