Vryheid is situated in the Battlefields of Kwa-Zulu Natal this tranquil landscape of northern KwaZulu-Natal was once the focal point of major military engagements, where Zulu, Boer and British forces fought in deadly conflicts that have shaped South Africa to the rainbow nation it is today. Rex is a highly experienced nature and history guide and is happy to assist guests with the information they may require. Battlefield Tours can be arranged with him as he specialises in the 1879 Zulu War, with special emphasis on the Battles of Ulundi, Hlobane, Kambula and Intombi Drift.
