Amanzimtoti, locally nicknamed Toti, and officially renamed to eManzimtoti, is a coastal town just south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. Well-known for its tropical climate and number of beaches, Amanzimtoti is popular as a tourist destination. Popular as a family holiday destination Amanzimtoti is a hive of activity during holiday times.

With the warm Indian Ocean; swimming, snorkelling and surfing are activities that can be done throughout the year. This part of the coast is great for scuba divers to explore the excellent marine life as well as the Aliwal Shoal, a coral reef just off the Umkomaas River mouth. All of Amanzimtoti's beaches are safe to swim in, protected by shark nets and lifeguards on duty.

The annual sardine run takes place from June to August when the area buzzes with excitement as these small fish take over the ocean. It is fascinating to watch locals scooping up them up and the bird life flocking overhead to dive after the fish.
