About St Ives Lodge
St Ives is situated in the heart of Lions River in the beautiful Natal Midlands on the R103, 10 kilometres from Howick, seven kilometres from Midmar Dam, 20 minutes from Pietermaritzburg and only five minutes away from the Nelson Mandela capture sight.
Our guests are free to enjoy the spoils and splendour of our scenic property. We have numerous walking trails on the property where you can view zebra, wildebeest and a variety of antelope in their natural setting.
Accommodation
The Lodge sleeps 48 guests with animals roaming (zebra and antelope) the grounds and the picturesque dams. Please see the individual room descriptions and photos below to make your choice.
Dining
Rholands Dining Room opened its doors in June 2019. Inspired by popular South African dishes, the menu offers a range of dishes to to tantalize your taste buds. (Bookings are essential). The Dining Room is fully licensed and offers an impressive variety of Wines, Gins & Whiskeys. Kids are welcome to come along and dine with mum and dad. We ask that they are kept seated at the table and are considerate of other patrons.

Activities on-site include fishing, bird watching, kids pump track and walking trails. Nearby attractions include the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, The Karkloof Canopy Tours and exploribg all the Midlands Meander has to offer.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds with quality linen. The room had a fireplace (although we could not get the flames going). Kitchenette with a bar fridge, crockery and cutlery microwave - so you could make simple meals. Lovely views over mowed lawns, enough parking for car with trailers/bicycles and a fishing dam. Friendly staff. Dinner at the pleasant eating place just down the lawn.

Absolutely beautiful venue with very friendly staff. The rooms are amazing, the food is amazing, the views are breathtaking and the walking trails are grounding. I would stay there again for longer.
