Umzumbe is located on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast, approximately 90km south of Durban, between Hibberdene and Port Shepstone. It is known as the best kept secret of the Hibiscus coast. Directly on the beach is Summerplace, which consists of 4 luxury self catering cottages.
ACCOMMODATION
Lookout Cottage:
“Lookout” cottage can sleep 12 guests for example 6 adults and 6 children. It has three bathrooms, dining room, lounge, kitchen, scullery and its own private deck and gate onto the beach.
Honeymoon Cottage
Then there is “Honeymoon” cottage which sleeps 4 guests, either 2 couples or a family. It has a modern bathroom, lovely kitchen with modern fittings and a big lounge area. Huge sliding doors makes your accessibility to the beach even easier.
Big Brother Cottage
“Big Brother” cottage is not what the name implies. It should be little brother as it sleeps 2 adults comfortably and has a sleeper couch. It is ultra modern with the same accessibility to the beach and view as the other units.
Paradise 2 Sleeper unit
Ground unit sleeping two, with easy access to the beach and stunning ocean views. The unit has a bedroom, shower bathroom, lounge and fully equipped kitchen.

There are several golf courses in the area and for those who love a beach and family holiday, this is ideal. The beach is protected by shark nets and there are lifeguards on duty throughout the year. The sea pool is a huge favourite with the younger generation.

The Penthouse is beautifully decorated and there is a fully equipped kitchen, a large lounge that leads onto a balcony. There are three bedrooms. Two bedrooms are furnished with one double bed each. The third bedroom (or children's bedroom) is furnished with four bunk beds (sleeps four kids). There are two bathrooms, the main bedroom has a big bathroom. The view from this Penthouse is amazing. We really enjoyed our stay, with wonderful views over one of the best beaches on the KZN coast. Eric was so helpful, he went to all lengths to help us and we are grateful. Wish we could have stayed longer but we hope to be back shortly.
